From Marrakech to Erg Chebbi

There is no direct way to get to Erg Chebbi from Marrakech. If you are on a budget, the best way is to take a CTM bus from Marrakech to Quarzazate and then change busses for Rissani. There is also a Supratours bus which is located near the Marrakech Train Station. Your final destination can be either Erfoud, Rissani or Merzouga. You can arrange to go into the desert at any hotel once there.
By Grand Taxi
The other option is to take a Grand Taxi. The entire taxi cost Dirham 480 to hire from Marrakech to Quarzazate. If you are willing to squeeze into the back of the taxi with three others, while having 2 sit in the front seat, it will cost 80 Dirham each. The taxi will only leave once it is full. When you get to Quarzazate, take another taxi to Tinehir where you will need to change for another bus or taxi to Rissani.
By Tour
If you are interested in visiting the Kasbah at Ait Benhaddou and the Todra George on your way to the desert, then a 3 day (minumum) tour with Omar is your best bet. This way, you need not worry about haggling with the taxi driver or worrying about where you are going to spend the night. The price of the tour depends on how many people sign up for the tour. The more people there is, the cheaper it will be for everyone.

From Fez to Erg Chebbi
By Coach / Bus
Catch the Supratour bus from Fes to Merzouga, it’s a direct overnight bus, if supratour is ful then take the CTM bus from Fez to Erfoud/Rissani then change to a grand taxi to get you to Merzouga. This bus can also be boarded in Meknes. The trip is over 9 hrs long but it is quite comfortable since CTM busses and supratours are air conditioned.

You can try to hire a grand taxi to take you to Er Rachidia and then change for another grand taxi to take you all the way to either Erfoud, Rissani or Merzouga.
By Car
The road to Merzouga from everywhere in Morocco is connected with a new paved road, easy to reach from either Erfoud or Rissani, a normal car is ok as the road is new and in very good conditions.
By Train
