Camel Trekking tours to the Dunes of Erg Chebbi

Omar liked his style of life doing caravans and the easyness of life. He wanted to show this and the beauty of the desert to others who have never had the chance experience what he has. Omar began to organize tours from his familly auberge and Marrakech in 1997 and he has been doing it ever since.

Here is a list of tours available which begin from Marrakech to the dunes of Erg Chebbi:

1) Two nights in the Desert departing from Marrakech - 3 days & 2 nights 150 euros per person
Itinerary:

Day 1 - From Marrakech to Dades Gorge
TIME PICK UP FROM MARRAKECH: At 8am.
Travel over the Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2260m) while enjoying superb views of the mountains and of the Berber Villages on the way. Stop for lunch and tour in the World heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. (This famous kasbah was used as a backdrop for more than 20 films.) Pass through Ouarzazate and continue towards the Valley of Roses and the Dades valley, Skoura oisis with it's authentic 17 century kasbah, the valley of a thousand Kasbahs and the
Dades Gorge. Stay overnight at the kasbah hotel.

Day 2 - Dades Gorge to Merzouga
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to the Todra Gorge: a massive fault, rising to 300 m in a narrow valley thickstudded with palmeries and Berber Villages. After lunch in the gorge, get transported further into the desert to Merzouga, stops along the great sand dunes of Erg Chebbi where you will take a camel ride (about one hour and a half) in order to get to your Bivouac Tent. (Hot showers and toilet facilities at the camp.)

Day 3 - 460 km: Merzouga to Marrakech
Return back to Ouarzazate and back over the high Atlas Mountains. Arrival in Marrakech evening 8 p.m.(approximately).

Duration: 2 nights
Price includes:

-Three days tour with an AC Landcruiser 4x4.
-English speaking driver
-Fuel
-1 night at the Hotel plus dinner and breakfast.
-1 night under a berber tent plus dinner and breakfast.
-two hours camel riding.
-Bottled water
-Night Drum party and lesson on drumming.

2) Tour to Zagora from Marrakech - 2 days & 1 night 80 euros per person
Itinerary:

Day 1: Pick up from Marrakech at 8:00am, 3 hours drive via the tizi ntichka pass, stops along for pictures, a visit to the Kasbah Aitbenhadou (30 minutes walk), lunch at the spot, drive to Zagora via Ourzazat and the spectacular draa vally, Tow hours camel ride, overnight under a berber tent.

Day 2: Breakfast at the camp, pick up at 8:00am, back to Marrakech.

Duration: 1 night
Price includes:
- 2 days AC 4x4.
- English speaking driver.
- Fuel
- One night at the camp.
- Dinner and breakfast.
- Two hours camel ride.

3) Tour to Merzouga from Marrakech, 4 days & 3 nights 180 euros per person
Itinerary:

Day 1: Pick up from Marrakech at 8am, 2 hours drive via the tizi ntichka pass, stops along for pictures, a visit to Telouet and it's ancient 17 century kasbah, lunch at a peaceful oasis with a Berber Folklore Show, an hour and a half drive to Aitbenhadou kasbah (11 century kasbah, UNESCO World Heritage Site), a visit to the Atlas Studio, hotel overnight in Ourzazat (www.lesjardinsdeouarzazate.com)

Day 2: Breakfast at the Hotel, pick up at 9:00am,2 hours drive along the magical Drâa River, one of the longest rivers in Morocco, stops at some beautiful adobe kasbahs and Berber villages en route, enjoy the enchanting Draa Valley, lunch in Alnif. Tow hours drive to Merzouga, Stop along the great sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, a visit to the black Gnoua people, two hours camel ride thru the dunes, overnight under a berber tent.

Day 3: Breakfast at the camp, pick up at 9:00am, drive to Todra vally and the Todra Gorge lunch at the spot, stops along the Dades vally, the monkey fingers vally and the Dades Gorge, Hotel overnight (www.kasbahdedades.com)

Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel, pick up at 9:00am, drive via the thousand kasbah route, the rose vally, a visit to Skoura oisis with it's authentic 17 century kasbah, a visit to Taourirt kasbah (the former residence of the Glaoui), lunch in Ourzazat, 4 hours drive via the tizi ntichka pass with stops along, back to Marrakech.

Duration: 3 nights
